The House of Flying Cards is home to some of the most creative young artists in the magician community today. Our magicians take pride in representing magic as an art form, and come together to create some of the most original interpretations of the "magic trick" unlike anything portrayed by the media.

Name: Karas
Strength: Cards, Rings, Rubberbands, Smoke
Style: Ninja
Experience: 8 years
Special Move: The Cut
When Karas’ performs, he transforms a deck of cards into 52 blades, handling them with stealth agility and then dealing them into swift illusions that become realities for all who watch. His presentations flow as effortlessly as casual conversation, with material organic and versatile enough to make any venue his own. Recently Karas' passion for magic has experienced a remarkable resurgence. After taking a four-year hiatus to pursue other art forms such as animation and breakdancing, his former apprentice Antino introduced him to the House and re-introduced him to the art of magic. Since then, he has been honning his skills with the diligence of a perfectionist, and evolving as an artist beyond all expectations.

Name: Nunky
Strength: Cards, Coins, Chocolate
Style: Wreckler
Experience: 4 years
Special Move: The Avalanche
Towering over the crowd at an intimidating 6’9” is Nunky, the jolliest magician in the House of Flying Cards. His funky musical antics and stage-shaking laughing sessions add a festive energy to all his performances. An avid fan of the martial arts videogame Soul Caliber, Nunky aspires to one day blow an entire stadium of spectators away with a single card trick, the way the Soul Caliber character Astaroth uses his battle axe to destroy his opponents in a single blow.

Name: Gambit
Strength: Nails, Glass, Thread, Coins, Mind Reading
Style: Serpent
Experience: 7 years
Special Move: The Venom
Gambit is an ethereal ballad of black nail polish, piercings, and chains, with performances that slither dangerously on the boarder of imagination and reality. He disarms crowds with his ominous appearence, then embraces them with graceful gestures and devilish charisma. The sting of his magic, innocent at first, sends truth-blurring ripple effects through the minds of his spectators. His highly potent performance style has garnered him recognition by NBC's "Phenomenon" as one of the top 20 mentalists in the country. Gambit currently works as the manager of the troupe's Orlando chapter.

Name: AJ

Strength: Sticks, Sauce, Mulch, Towels, Belts, etc.

Style: Dynamite

Experience: 6 years

Special Move: The Tantrum

AJ can take anything, and turn it into nothing. Billiard balls, socket wrenches, ketchup packets, garden lizards, firecrackers, clumps of pocket lint- whatever the object, AJ’s impatient hands are itching to vanish it. Fueled by the energy of a toddler at play, AJ’s high-energy performances disrupt normal thinking patterns and take audiences on a broken roller coaster ride in every misdirection.

Name: Antino
Strength: Pens, Bracelets, Fire, Hankerchiefs, Leaves, Bubble Gum
Style: Poet
Experience: 8 years
Special Move: The Freecap
Antino's elusive performing style blends sleight of hand with spoken word poetry to elevate the art of magic into a compelling form of expression. His performances are lyrical and eccentric, and play like poetic scenes from a Kafka novel. He has been described as one of the most complex magicians in the House, and as such, challenges his audiences to look closer, beyond the illusions, and discover something real under the glare of the spotlight. Antino is the founder of the House of Flying Cards, and currently works as the manager of the troupe's South Florida chapter.

Name: Dan the Magic Man

Strength: Cards, Balls, Fire, Watches, Cellphones
Style: Mesmer

Experience: 7 years
Special Move: The Quickness
Dan's ultra-sharp movements and fast talk are enough to leave even the quickest of eyes in the dust. His rapid-fire performances can reach speeds of up to 20 tricks per minute, leaving audience members visually off-balance and breathless. He joined the House in 2006 with the goal of taking his abilities to the professional level, and since then has grown into one of the troupe's most technically-sound performers. Dan currently works as the manager of the troupe's Gainesville chapter.

Name: Jaz
Strength: Cards, Light, Ropes, Mind Reading
Style: Freestylist
Experience: 4 years
Special Move: The Solo
Jaz doesn’t practice his performances- he makes them up as he goes along. From the most unorthodox script lines to tricks he didn’t even know he knew, Jaz breaks off from the patterns of conventional performing and takes audiences on an odyssey in freestyle magic. His mind-reading abilities are powerful enough to make you buy him a drink, his card work boarders on the paranormal, and his audiences’ reactions add a flammable dimension to the energy of The House of Flying Cards.

Name: Salamangkero

Strength: Coins, Cards, Roses, Mouse Traps

Style: Kareoke

Experience: 5 years

Special Move: The Filipino

Salamangkero is the bounce of the House. His style blends airborne sleights and inadvertent sex jokes into a crazy, comedic karaoke of what Salamangkero refuses to call magic. Hesitant to call them miracles, he leaves his demonstrations anonymous, with routines named as bluntly as “Salamangkero's First Trick”, or “Salamangkero's Next Trick”. And whenever he wants, he sometimes puts on a fake Filipino accent to heighten his spectators’ awareness of what he is and isn’t doing. His show is as casual as an open mic night run by your favorite uncle. And whatever he feels like showing, his audiences will always agree on one thing: Salamangkero’s magic made them bounce.

Name: Ed

Strength: Cards, Coins, Markers

Style: Cello

Experience: 3 years

Special Move: The Jack and Jill

While the House of Flying Cards is busy partying the show away, Ed reclines quietly at the back of the theater, as mellow as a cello. After the spotlights dim and the theaters empty, he invites the remainder of the audience over and chills them like ice cream. His soft-spoken presentations are accented with charming storylines and impressive sleight of hand displays, and are a treat to watch after a long night of being fooled.

Name: Quicksilver

Strength: Coins

Style: Practitioner

Experience: 15 years

Special Move: The Matrix

Quicksilver has been practicing the craft longer than any other magician in The House of Flying Cards. And all those years have been dedicated solely to the art of coin magic and the perfection thereof. When performing, his hands and the coins they manipulate become a silver blur, executing magic so advanced that it even amazes the other magicians of the House. Quicksilver’s technique is state of the art, and his practice ethic shines like gems in a mine of discipline, igniting the House in each and every performance.

Name: Brandon (retired)

Strength: Cards, Ropes, Doves, Bottles, Money, Silk Handkerchiefs

Style: Gentleman

Experience: 5 years

Special Move: The Dove

Well-dressed, polite, and personable, Brandon is the image of the classic magician. He addresses audience members by name and asks where they're from before asking them to pick a card. His wholesome, family-friendly magic is guaranteed to win charmed rounds of applause by audiences of all ages. A recent addtion to the House of Flying Cards roster, his time-honored performace style has brought an air of refinement to the cutting edginess of the House's repretoire.

Name: H.T. (retired)
Strength: Cards, Coins, Bones

Style: Database
Experience: 13 years
Special Move: The Self Destruct

H.T. is the database of magic-related knowledge in the House of Flying Cards. He keeps the other performers in touch with the latest happenings in the magic community, and ensures that the troupe's material stays on the cutting edge. An experienced magician in his own right, H.T. has been practicing the art since he was 5. He shares a special interest in the unorthodox art of self-mutilating magic, and his performances are consequently met by more screams than applauses.

Name:
Genie (retired)

Strength: Cards, Metal Bending, Mind Reading, Coins

Style: Protagonist

Experience: 6 years

Special Move: The Transposition

Conjuring at the speed of his upbeat persona, Genie welcomes audiences as the hospitality of The House of Flying Cards. His performing charisma combined with his crowd-exploding magic make him a favorite among audience members. He was trained in the art as a teen, where he gained experience performing in the hallways and classrooms of his high school. A card man at heart, Genie is also fluent in metal bending, mind-reading and coin magic, making him a versatile performer with enough firepower to start a small riot.

Name: Tenshyn (retired)

Strength: Metal Rings, Cards, Fire, Levitations, Coins
Style: Storyteller

Experience: 12 years

Special Move: The Snap

Tenshyn is what builds when the audience is so captivated by his story that they forget they are about to be fooled. And then the climax strikes, from the blind side, rendering his story nothing more than an instrumental maze of verbiage designed to lead audiences to the most vulnerable position possible. Tenshyn is the voice of The House of Flying Cards, with stories and presentations so interesting they cause bystanders thousands of feet away to come over and listen. When not doing magic, Tenshyn works as a humble card dealer at a casino.

Name:
Quizyx (retired)

Strength: Ropes, Cards, Coins, Light, Rubberbands

Style: Riddler

Experience: 9 years

Special Move: The Quiz

A performance by Quizyx is famed for the rain of questions he pitches at audience members and the delightful collection of wrong answers that result. Quizyx’ reason-sedating magic is tinged with an air of New York street hustle, and feeds off the energy of wrong answers to floor audience members from the inside out. Quizyx was exposed to the world of magic at a young age. He underwent superior training from his older brother Vann, an accomplished master magician, and witnessed performances by legendary magicians such as Lance Burton and David Copperfield. Before the House of Flying Cards existed, Quizyx trained with Genie, and together they honed their skills by performing at various social gatherings and parties.

Name:
Ace (retired)

Strength: Unknown

Style: Gypsy

Experience: Unknown

Special Move: The Crucifix

Ace’s origins are shrouded in mystery, but his powers as a magician are surrealistically strong and his presentations equally as compelling. His performances with The House of Flying Cards are rare, but when he does make an appearance, his presence and energy is unquestionably felt. Ace is the chairman of the Beyond Logic Network, a prestigious organization that also seeks to advance the art of magic into the modern age. Name: Ren (retired)
Strength: Cards, Coins, Mind Reading, Metal Bending

Style: Prodigy
Experience: 1 year
Special Move: The Impression

Ren's story is a testament to a magician’s coming of age. Formerly an apprentice of Quizyx, his unwavering passion and willingness to learn continue to send his skills skyrocketing at unprecedented rates. The freshman year is often the most difficult year for any student of magic, as it weeds out many aspiring magicians with its glimpses into the sheer difficulty of the art. With his first year now behind him, Ren has developed into a formidable magician and an archetype for apprentices everywhere.

Name: Phoenix and Iaroslav (retired)

Strength: Electricity, Cards, Mind Reading, Rubberbands, Coins, Comedy

Style: Electrician

Experience: 2 years

Special Move: The Electric Touch

Phoenix electrifies his audiences. Iaroslav makes fun of them. Although they are physically the same magician, they are two entirely different characters. Phoenix feeds off a repretoire of mind-reading and psychic abilities. Iaroslav is a current of hyperactive showmanship derived from inebriation and pseudo East-European accents. Together, they perform with the zest of a trigger-happy thunder god, and represent the energy and passion that flow through The House of Flying Cards.

Name: Hypnose (retired)

Strength: Contact juggling, toss juggling, cards, coins, fire

Style: Hybrid

Experience: 8 years

Special Move: The Spiral

Surrrounded by spinning bowling pins, hypnotic acrylic blls, and blazing torches, Hypnose is the most visually powerful performer in the House of Flying Cards. This part-magician, part-juggler draws a crowd within seconds of his impressive juggling displays, and then slams them back with his incomparable brand of accidental magic. Hypnose is also the president of the juggling club at the University of Florida, a member of Spherocity juggling troupe, and one of the only 10 performance-level contact jugglers in the state.
